The first week

English only....

One week has past since I arrived at Manchester. Just after my airplane landed, the beautiful sunshine welcomed me to the city. I was surprised at the nice weather since Google let me know the actual weather in England. And even now the usual weather has reached 30 Celsius degrees. Although it is hot, I can more comfortably live here compared to Tokyo whose weather is with the high humidity.

You know, we can see beautiful and traditional buildings in this city. Literrally, we could be surrounded by the great artworks. I would like to admire effort of the preservation. Well even in Japan (aside from Kyoto) we could see such buildings, but a number of the buildings are not so large due to a lot of earthquake. The difficulty to keep the traditional building has might allow the architecture to develop though. Actually, ten percent of all the earthquake occurs around Japan

Some classmates in English class are smarter than I expected when I left Japan. This is fantastic. Since I am only Japanese in my classroom, teachers ask questions about my culture to me. Truthful speaking, my concentration on classes all the time is not endless. And a lecture in a large classroom that half of all groups join together is held once a week. My comprehension of the lecture is still not enough to catch all the information.

So far, this English course is fruitful. But at the same time, I am exhausted from setting up my life condition, taking classes, and lecturing how importance of cleaning a kitchen on the floor to my flatmates: all of them are from China...

Students are allowed to cook on a shared kitchen in my accommodation. And residents have duty to clean the kitchen and then person responsible depends on each day. However, some of them ignored their duty and left their leftover on a table in the kitchen. So, I needed to clean up although my days were different. I scolded someones for their bad manners and lecture how importance of taking own responsibility. In addition, I told them that if their attitude and manners change even from now on, this my bad impression on China would not change.

Fortunately, they understood my message and I made a friend of them. At that time, I realized who I am. You know, all I can do is to do anything to others with the integrity.
