English and Japanese

English Only...

Last week, I posted an article about our classmates had an assignment to write a summary about Korean airplane accident. Today, my pair worked on reviewing 6 summaries by other pairs.

I think that while I was correcting mistakes and illogical sentences, I was so critical (and strict lol). 
Although my previous writings had many many many many mistake and illogical,  after all the work, I recognized how to write an essay and make a structure with correct grammar and collocation.

At the same time, I knew why many native speakers are more critical than Japanese. It is because English does not accept ambiguity that is acceptable in Japanese. How convenient Japanese is, haha

But, if you want to tell some message, you can more clearly tell what you want to say with English language. A great deal of people think that English is more direct than Japanese. But, I am not sure that this understanding of the difference between English and Japanese is correct.

Even when I speak English, for instance, I don't say "I dislike it," after I eat something that my friend cooked. British English is tentative language. I don't know how tentative American English is. Tutors often says "would you mind moving on to another seat?" or "are you happy with working on this assignment" something like that. (Maybe, people, who say English is more direct than Japanese, have small English skills...)

Now, I can tell the difference. It is whether we should write without ambiguity or not.

Anyway, the task was very very helpful to improve my writing skill and critical thinking. Tired but work on next task now!
