This Wednesday, our tutor gave us one assignment, which is writing a summary about a movie with each pair. I was so impressed how powerful team work is through this experience. We were required to use all the items, which we have studied, such as classifying, comparison, cause&effect, and 3rd conditional. For the first time, the pair task had seemed like boring, but it didn't.
Overview of the movie
----------
A movie, which we watched was about Airplane Accident due to cultural issues. A Korean flight, heading to Milano from UK, crushed. Unfortunately, there was no survivor, and an investigation committee took the responsibility to find out the cause and the solution of this saddest accident.
They found that one of Attitude Director Indicators, known as ADI, was broken. the broken was in front of pilot although there were three ADI in the cockpit. However, at the same time, the committee doubted that why other crews, co-pilot and an engineer in the cockpit, didn't notice the technological accident or handle the aircraft in stead of the pilot.
This is the key point of this airplane accident. The reason is because the Korean strong hierarchy made the other crews have their leadership and solve the problem. So, the committee that has different culture from Asian countries accept the fact and modify their training manual of pilot to accommodate the Korean culture.

And through writing the summary of the movie, my pair and I discussed a lot about cohesion between sentences, grammar, vocabulary, and all the items. And after we completed the task, we were surprised at the quality of our writing and were impressed by the powerful teamwork. We finally recognized why our tutor required the pair work.
At the same time, I reflected Japanese educational system. Have I had such an exciting assignment in the schools? Have I recognized how important the teamwork is through school assignments? Absolutely, no. Why not?
